We are so excited to celebrate with you in Portugal! Below are a few travel recommendations to help with your planning.

✈️ Traveling to Portugal

Flying to Lisbon Fly into Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). The venue, <a href="https://herdadedoperu.com/en/herdade-do-peru/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Herdade do Perú</a>, is nestled in Azeitão, approximately 40 minutes south of Lisbon. Most flights from the US depart in the evening and arrive in Lisbon between 8–11 am the following morning. We recommend booking an outbound flight on Thursday, August 27th, which should have you arriving in Lisbon on Friday, August 28th — giving you time to settle in before the festivities begin. Suggested arrival: Friday, August 28thSuggested departure: Monday, August 31st We recommend arriving on Friday the 28th — events begin Friday evening, and we'd love for you to have time to settle in and enjoy the property before the weekend gets going. Please plan to stay through Sunday the 30th, as we'll be hosting a casual farewell gathering that afternoon before everyone heads out Monday morning.

Getting from Lisbon to the Venue We recommend one of two options depending on your travel style. 1. Rental Car: The most flexible and affordable option. Rentals are competitively priced, and having a car will make it easy to get around the property, attend events throughout the weekend, and ensure reliable transport back to Lisbon. Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, and others are available at LIS. 2. Car Service or Ride-Share: Uber and Bolt are plentiful in Lisbon, but become unreliable around the venue — especially late at night. If this is your plan, pre-book a confirmed car service for your return. <a href="https://goldlimousine.pt/?reserva=490160" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gold Limousine</a> is a recommended option for transfers.

🚗 Getting to the Venue — Ceremony Day

For guests joining us for the ceremony on Saturday, August 29th, the celebration will be hosted at Casa Grande, the main house at Herdade do Perú.The venue is approximately 40 minutes south of Lisbon. We recommend driving or arranging a car service in advance.1. 2. Follow the signs to Casa Grande:Once you're through, follow the signs that say "Todas as direções" (meaning "all directions") — keep going straight through each one — until you reach a sign for Herdade do Perú / Casa Grande next to another gate. You'll be directed to take a right into the parking area. From there, simply walk into Casa Grande.⚠️ If you're planning to get a ride-share back after the party — do not count on it. Ride-shares are not available around the venue late at night. Please arrange a car service or rental car before arriving.

Travel

👔 Formal (one step below black tie)

Our venue is an estate nestled in the Portuguese countryside - think rolling vineyards, golden light, and warm summer evenings. We'd love for our guests to dress the part. Floor-length gowns and suits are encouraged. Tuxedos are not required - a well-tailored suit is perfectly at home here. Given the August heat in Portugal, light and breathable fabrics are your best friend. Linen, chiffon, and other airy materials will keep you comfortable through the ceremony and into the reception. As the sun sets over the estate, temperatures do drop pleasantly in this area - a light wrap or jacket for the evening is a good idea. A note on shoes: the ceremony will be held on grass, and some areas of the venue have gravel paths. We recommend block heels or wedges for comfort and stability throughout the day. This is a step below black tie. Come polished, come festive, and come ready to celebrate!

For American guests staying at Herdade do Perú, the drive is approximately 15 minutes. Carpooling and having a designated driver is recommended.The main gate at Herdade do Perú opens automatically when exiting the property. We will coordinate with the property manager to ensure the gate is open when guests return. If the gate is closed for any reason, please call Hélio, the property manager, at +351 934 191 316, and he will open it for you.To get from your house to the main gate, please follow the directions in the Accommodations tab in reverse. When returning, follow those same directions from the main gate back to your house.

☀️ Farewell Lunch

Sunday, August 30thPortinho da Arrábida2:00 PM – 5:00 PM‎Portinho da Arrábida is a protected area by the ocean, and during the summer months, vehicle access to the bottom is restricted to residents only. We've arranged a tuk tuk service to take you down from where vehicle access is restricted to the lunch location — simply drive to the controlled gate, park nearby, and the tuk tuks will take you the rest of the way.‎⚠️ This is peak summer season, and we expect parking around the controlled gate to be very busy. Please carpool whenever possible — the fewer cars we have, the easier it will be for everyone to find a spot.‎1.
